Scent of the Past

I wonder if you get pictures from youth and childhood passing into your mind?  Like snapshots of history that you have gone through. Some were not very nice and we want to forget them, others bring back happy memories .Pictures of the past that suddenly come to life and you remember them just as if they were yesterday - which in fact they were.Suppose you could trap these moments and travel back to them.
Some you would want to try and stop and others like your first kiss you may want to remember and you look back and wonder what you saw in your love of the time.
The job you took that turned out to be a sweat shop or a negative experience .I had an uncle who called such times character building . The times you were hurt and betrayed ,suppose you could go back and stop the hurt from happening. Or those you love who have died .I remember a list of gentle kind people who always made things better in comparison to the running sores and dripping taps of humanity that always seem to come out of the woodwork and try to live your life for you.
With my first books being about time travel .I was thinking about a book about that kind of time travel.I wonder if it would work ?

Walking in the Scent of Time

It seems like summer in January. We are surrounded by sun and gentle breezes, the birds are delighted and surprised -so are people. Dogs go racing along the beach, flying after far flung balls.
Time to stop and think and walk. Peace for free. How many generations in history were grateful for a break in winter, no wind or ice or snow.
Geese flying overhead, not sure whether they should be going north or south. We walk on the sands of time on the beach and after every tide the waves smooth things over as if we had never been. The salty sea air and wet seaweed mingle like the scent of time as they have done for generations. Each generation with their own joys and sorrows but always the waves and the sand and the sound of the gulls.
